Why the Museum?
"The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and all science. He to whom this emotion is a stranger, who can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead: his eyes are closed."—Albert Einstein
Love is one of the great mysteries of human existence. Why do we love? What is its significance and meaning? A wedding is a moment to reflect on those questions and "stand rapt in awe" as we experience this mystery together.

In thinking about what we wanted our wedding to express, we knew that it would not be authentically "us" unless it incorporated our love for science and for the endless awe-some majesty of nature that it explores. Many of our first "dates" involved science: a book talk on quantum computing at the Harvard Book Store and a visit to the Darwin exhibit at the Field Museum in Chicago.
By having our wedding at the Museum of Science in Boston—a frequent destination for Chris's family—we will surround ourselves with science. In the Blue Wing, we and you—our guests—will be steps from exhibits on everything from rocket science to dinosaurs and countless ways to explore nature's mysteries. "Endless forms must beautiful and most wonderful" await you!
Experience the Museum for Yourself
All wedding guests receive a free one-day pass for the weekend of the wedding. We encourage everyone to take advantage of this and explore all the museum has to offer. As March approaches, check the Museum's web site for more information on what temporary exhibits and shows will be open during the wedding.
In addition, much of the Blue Wing, which houses some of the permanent exhibits of the museum, will also be open for guests to explore during the wedding reception.
